Our Pastor

Kent & Julie met and were married at our church in 2002. They have been raised up at Family Life and are now serving our church as pastors. 

Prior to serving at Family Life Kent served in the National Guard for 8 years, and as a police officer for the City of Mt. Vernon for 6 years (where he currently serves as chaplain). Kent also serves as a school board member in our community. 

Worship Leader / Administrative Assistant

Julie has been leading worship for about 20 years and also serves the church as an administrative assistant. Julie has a passion to see people living free and walking in their true God given identity. Julie uses each area she serves at the church as an opportunity to help people in this goal. Outside of the church she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three girls. In her free time she enjoys shopping and taking walks. 

Shelter Coordinator

Angela and her family became members of Family Life in 2014. She is a mother of 5 wonderful children and has 2 grandchildren. She has been blessed to be a stay at home mother and wife. And is now working at our shelter. She is known around here as Momma Ang.

Year 2 Intern

Elisha Hayes was raised in Mt. Vernon her whole life. She walked through the doors of Family Life on November 1st, 2018. Elisha was homeless, broken, had no family, had lost custody of her older son, was pregnant and bound from an ongoing addiction to drugs. Elisha is now FREE and has been reunited with her parents and her son has been restored to her. Elisha is also the proud mother of a growing baby girl. Elisha is passionate about helping others get and stay free from drugs/alcohol by helping them look to Jesus who is always there for us.

Year 2 Intern

Brian came through the doors of Family Life in 2018 through the warming shelter ministry. Since then Brian has overcome his addiction to alcohol. In 2019 Brian started an internship program here at the church and has been raised up. Brian is passionate about blessing others with meals and runs a catering business called Touch of Love. Brian heads up the warming shelter ministry along with Elisha and Angie. Brian loves to help others find hope in Jesus.
